"When Reproductive Rights Conflict" as
a Speech Topic or Issue to Debate
Some people say that women's reproductive freedoms include the
right to delay childbearing, the right to remain "child-free",
and the right to "reproduce" by obtaining children through
adoption or reproductive technologies. With married women, it is
assumed they have the right to raise all children born to them.
Should single mothers have the right to raise their own children,
without any pressure to "give them up"?

and Freedoms A fresh viewpoint on an old subject.
The status of women in a society may be partially
determined by the percentage of women who have their babies adopted-out.

Open Records for Adoptees - Another great Speech
or Debate topic
In most of the United States, when a child is adopted her original
birth certificate is sealed and a falsified "amended"
birth certificate is generated. The falsified document - the only
one she has access to - has her name changed and states that the
people who adopted gave birth to her. Sometimes the date of birth,
place of birth and other information are changed on the amended
birth certificate. This protects the people adopting by giving them
a "life-time" guarantee on the child they adopted - after
all they did pay good money! But it makes it very hard for the adopted
person who wants to find her natural family. Some adoption promoters
claim that natural moms were promised "confidentiality".
But the records are not sealed upon relinquishment, they are sealed
only upon adoption so it seems that the sealing of records is not
done to protect the natural moms. If it was to protect them, why
wouldn't they have it included in writing on the contract? Search
angels report that 90% of moms welcome contact with their adopted-out
child immediately and many of the rest of them just need some time
to adjust emotionally to the idea.
