PURELY AMERICAN: LAWS, LIES AND LOVE, Dr. D. William Troxler, Capital College, 2000

"The giver is called the birth mother or biological mother or natural mother. These terms cloud the fact that a mother who 'gave up' her child was authoritatively deceived at a vulnerable moment by her entire support system and the professionals who were supposed to serve her."

If you would like to exchange website links please contact me. Your website must utilize honest (not biased) language. People who adopt are a substitute for a child's mother and father NOT the mother and father. A natural mother and father are not "birth parents" (aka "birth things"). Using honest language is important in preventing additional unnecessary separation of family. Using honest language will also help to reform the systems that are in place which cruelly deny human beings the knowledge of who they really are. In the United States, not only adopted persons but other persons that have been "artificially orphaned" through "donor" insemination, egg "donor", embryo adoption are all being denied the most basic knowledge about themselves. This should be illegal.

Unlocking the Heart of Adoption - In this documentary which is being aired on PBS, documentary filmmaker Sheila Ganz provides some insights into how adoption affects the adopted person and the natural mother. Perhaps more could have been said in the film about the "social forces" that tear the real family members apart, but otherwise "Unlocking the Heart of Adoption" is very informational for a public that has been led to believe that a baby won't know the difference and her natural mother will just go on as if nothing had happened. No mother (or father) should be denied help so her baby can be used for adoption.
